It appears that the Poco M2 Pro will not be the upcoming flagship of the Poco brand. Instead, it can now be another brand new mid-range smartphone after Poco X2. Poco M2 Pro has got information about features matching Redmi Note 9 Pro, which Xiaomi launched in India in March.
In its report, XDA Developer cites members associated with the platform of the platform, saying that the Poco M2 Pro with model number M2003J6CI and codename gram is in progress. The model number given here matches the model number M2003J6A1 of the Redmi Note 9 Pro. One of the members of the XDA Forum has also seen the firmware of a model whose codename was "gram_in_global". This may be the India variant of the unannounced Poco phone.
It has been reported that some hints of Poco M2 Pro's codename 'gram' appear in the source code and firmware of Redmi Note 9 Pro. This indicates that some similarities can be seen in the two smartphones. Apart from this, it is believed that the Redmi Note 9 Pro and the new Poco phone will also have the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset.
Even before this, we have seen the Poco brand of smartphones as a rebrand of Xiaomi's smartphone. For example, the Poco X2 smartphone is a rebrand of the Redmi K30. It may be that Poco M2 Pro is also launched with slight changes in hardware.
Poco has not confirmed anything about Poco M2 Pro at the moment. However, since the phone is listed on the RF exposure page of Xiaomi India site, there is a possibility that the brand may announce it soon.
